Join us for a special fundraiser event (free or with a donation) featuring renowned biblical scholar John Dominic Crossan, as we celebrate the release of his latest book, Paul the Pharisee: A Vision Beyond the Violence of Civilization, published by Westar’s Polebridge Press. At 90 years old, Crossan continues to provide fresh insights, exploring Paul's identity as a Jewish Pharisee and how Pauline “resurrection” intersects with human evolution. This event presents a rare opportunity to engage with one of the foremost voices in religious scholarship, as he brings Paul’s story to life in a way that resonates with both scholars and the general public.

This fundraiser supports Westar’s mission to bridge the gap between religious scholarship and public understanding.

Five grand prize winners—current Westar members or new members who join before September 22 are eligible to win an inscribed and signed hardcover edition of the book. Additionally, five non-member winners will receive signed paperback copies.

To enter the giveaway, members can submit a personalized inscription of up to 400 characters—letters, numbers, punctuation, and spaces. Dr. Crossan will personally inscribe the winning books by copying your submitted inscription along with his signature. This means your words will be handwritten by Dr. Crossan himself in the grand prize hardcover edition making each book a truly unique keepsake.

Winning inscriptions may even be featured in future Westar publicity. For those who prefer to enter without submitting an inscription, there is still an option to enter the drawing for one of the runner-up prizes.

Nonmembers winners will receive signed paperback copies.
