Joseph B. Tyson is Professor Emeritus of Religious Studies at Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas, where he taught from 1958-1998. The author and editor of a number of books on Luke-Acts, he was a member of Westar Institute’s Acts Seminar and served as chair of the Group on Acts in the Society of Biblical Literature for several years.
• Southern Methodist University Scholar/Teacher of the Year, 1996-1997• John G. Gammie Senior Lectureship Award, 1993-1994. The award is given annually by the Southwest Commission on Religious Studies and obligates the recipient to present lectures at participating institutions in the U. S. Southwest.
